A 57-year-traditional woman is in critical condition after a fall from her apartment building in Hong Kong on Sunday, February 8, 2026. The incident underscores the potential for unexpected accidents even within the safety of one’s home.

Police responded to a call at approximately 8:48 a.m. At the City One complex on Mei Yuen Road in Tai Wai, according to reports. First responders found the woman unconscious on the ground outside the building and immediately transported her to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin.

Authorities believe the woman, identified by the surname Feng, was doing household chores and accidentally fell from a balcony while hanging laundry. Initial investigations suggest no foul play was involved and the case is being treated as an accidental injury.

The woman’s daughter made the emergency call after discovering her mother. According to early reports, she was found lying near the building’s entrance.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fall.
