Taiwan’s men’s doubles team of Wang Qi-lin and Chiu Xiang-chieh has reached a new high in the Badminton World Federation rankings, climbing to No. 11 globally as of February 10, 2026.
This marks the highest ranking the pair, known as “Lin-Qiu,” have achieved since teaming up. The duo recently represented Taiwan at the Asian Badminton Team Championships, earning 6183 ranking points across three matches. Their current point total stands at 60363, allowing them to surpass fellow Taiwanese team Lee Jhe-hui/Yang Po-hsuan, as well as China’s Chen Bo-yang/Liu Yi, in the world rankings.
Wang Qi-lin has previously expressed his desire to break into the top 10, and this latest jump brings that goal within closer reach. The team’s success comes after winning the 2025 Super 500 series Hwa-Lo Badminton Open on November 2, 2025, defeating Indonesia’s Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani 21-19, 21-18 in 42 minutes. That victory marked their second championship of the season.
Despite a recent setback at the Australian Open, where they were eliminated in the round of 16, Wang and Chiu secured a spot in the BWF World Tour Finals as the final alternate. Wang Qi-lin reflected on the team’s journey, stating, “Many people say I have luck in major tournaments, but I want to be able to establish myself.” He added, “Even when we give our best, the results aren’t always as expected. Unexpectedly qualifying for the year-finish finals, I want to be able to stand firm.”
The pair has competed in 23 tournaments this season, securing two championships and one third-place finish. This performance has solidified their position as a rising force in men’s doubles badminton.
