At Mobile World Congress 2026, TECNO unveiled its CAMON 5 series – including the CAMON 50 Ultra 5G, CAMON 50 Pro, and CAMON 50 – representing a significant step forward in mobile technology through the integration of professional-grade hardware and intuitive AI. This launch underscores the growing trend of AI-powered features becoming central to the smartphone experience.
The CAMON 50 Ultra 5G is designed for creators and visionaries, featuring a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 700C Ultra Night camera, recognized as a leader in its class for exceptional clarity even in challenging low-light conditions. The Ultra 5G and Pro models also include a 50-megapixel Telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, offering a popular 70mm focal length for portrait photography. The system’s AI 60X SuperZoom ensures every detail is captured with professional precision, whether shooting close-up or from a distance.
Beyond the lenses, the AI RAW 2.0 engine serves as the core of the CAMON 50 Ultra 5G’s imaging system, processing complex lighting and intricate details to deliver images with superior accuracy and clarity. The Super-Zoom FlashSnap technology combines fast-motion capture with powerful zoom capabilities, allowing users to freeze fleeting moments with high precision, even from afar. The industry-first AI Auto Zoom feature acts as an intelligent editor during shooting, detecting key elements in a scene and automatically cropping the image for optimal composition.
The CAMON 50 Ultra 5G achieved a score of 146 on the DXOMARK assessment, the highest rating for a smartphone under $600, and 142 points in portrait photography, positioning it among the top performers in its price range. “With the upcoming CAMON 50 Ultra 5G, TECNO’s Universal Tone technology confirms a bright and pleasing shooting style that closely matches the natural way users see the scene,” said Frédéric Guichard, CEO of DXOMARK.
TECNO believes AI should enhance, not complicate, the user experience. The CAMON 50 series introduces the industry-first AI Art Gallery, a creative space where ordinary photos are transformed into exceptional works of art. Utilizing the Dream Scape Model, this feature offers a global range of artistic styles, allowing users to reimagine their images inspired by renowned artworks or local cultural heritage. The creative potential extends beyond still images, with the AI Image-to-Video Generator converting photos into dynamic videos, while Live Photo captures the essence of a moment, and AI 3D PhotoSpace adds immersive spatial depth to images.
In challenging environments, AI LightMaster 2.0 functions as an invisible lighting team, eliminating reflections, glare, and distracting shadows with a single touch. AI also extends to everyday tasks. The AI Key button provides a smart assistant, capable of summarizing complex articles via One-Tap FlashMemo, improving text with AI Writing 2.0, or assisting with health management through the AI Health Assistant. The intelligent assistant Ella has also evolved into a multi-tasking guide, serving as a conversational training partner and a 24/7 tutor for problem-solving.
The CAMON 50 series also benefits from the OneLeap platform, providing a seamless experience with TECNO Laptops and MEGAPAD. This integrated system allows for phone screen mirroring, keyboard and mouse sharing, and text and image copying and pasting between devices, transforming the phone into a highly efficient workspace.
Designed with security in mind, the CAMON 50 series introduces TGuard, TECNO’s comprehensive security system. A key component is the off-network search technology, enabling phone location even without a SIM card or with a completely drained battery.
The CAMON 50 Ultra 5G delivers reliable performance with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor. All models in the series feature a super-bright 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate for an exceptionally smooth visual experience. The series also boasts high water and dust resistance ratings of IP68, IP69, and IP69K, along with a battery lasting up to 5 years with a capacity of up to 6500mAh (depending on the market) and 45W fast charging. For users needing connectivity in remote locations, FreeLink enables calls and message sending via long-range Bluetooth without a network.
