Early Departure Was Emotional

Actress Tereza Brodská has spoken candidly about the challenges she faced while filming the long-running Czech television series Ulice (Streets). The actress, known to audiences for her role as Bára Jordánová, admitted that working on the daily drama was exceptionally exhausting in its early days and took a toll on the health of the entire crew. “We were doing it with just a few people at the beginning. I have to say that after a year or two, everyone suffered health consequences. Those twelve, thirteen-hour shifts were grueling, with everyone then leaving, but the actors had to go home and learn another twenty-five pages of text for the next day. That was quite strong coffee, but you get used to everything,” Brodská recalled on Frekvence 1.

The demanding production schedule of daily dramas is well-known within the television industry, often requiring actors and crew to maintain a relentless pace. Brodská’s comments offer a rare glimpse behind the scenes of a popular series and highlight the physical and mental strain involved in creating such content. Her reflections underscore the dedication required to produce a present that consistently delivers new episodes to a devoted audience.
