Teyana Taylor is speaking out after a post-Oscars incident involving a security guard sparked outrage online. The actor and singer, a nominee for her operate in “One Battle After Another,” alleges she was physically handled by a member of the security team following the ceremony on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Footage circulating on social media shows Taylor confronting the guard, stating, “You’re a man putting your hands on a female. You’re particularly rude. Very rude.” She also alleges the guard “literally shoved me” and demanded, “Do not touch me, do not shove me.” The incident quickly drew attention and concern from fans and industry peers alike.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has responded, saying they are “extremely upset” to learn of the encounter. “We have worked with Teyana over the last several months during awards season, and she has been nothing short of remarkable, supportive, kind and all about community,” read a statement obtained by Entertainment Weekly.

While the incident involved security firm SIS, the Academy emphasized that the experience of every guest is their responsibility. “We have made it clear to them that this behaviour is not acceptable,” the statement continued. The Academy concluded by thanking Taylor for showing “remarkable grace” and assuring that they are “taking the appropriate measures to ensure this does not happen again.”

The incident comes as Taylor continues to receive accolades for her role in “One Battle After Another,” which won Best Picture at the Oscars. The film’s success and Taylor’s performance have solidified her position as a rising star in Hollywood.

Taylor’s experience highlights ongoing conversations about safety and respect for women in the entertainment industry and at high-profile events. Further details regarding the Academy’s investigation and any potential disciplinary action have not yet been released.
