Bangkok – Thai workers are returning home from the Middle East as regional tensions escalate, with 67 having arrived from various locations as of today, March 13, 2026. The ongoing repatriation efforts reflect growing concerns for the safety of Thai nationals working in countries experiencing instability.

Thirty-four Thai workers arrived back in Thailand earlier today from Iran, according to reports from Sวพ.FM91. This follows the arrival of 18 workers from Iran and 35 from Bahrain, bringing the total number of returnees to 87. An additional 68 Thai nationals are expected to be repatriated from Iran soon, as the government works to bring citizens home from the volatile region.

The Thai government is actively monitoring the situation and coordinating assistance for its citizens in the Middle East, particularly in Iran and Israel. Ch7.com reports ongoing efforts to provide support and facilitate the safe return of those who wish to leave.

More than 400 Thai workers in Israel have confirmed their safety and are currently located away from active conflict zones, Matichon Online reported. Still, some workers in both Israel and Iran have reportedly expressed a desire to return to Thailand, though the number remains relatively small, according to the Ministry of Labor.

The repatriation efforts come amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, underscoring the challenges faced by migrant workers in conflict-affected areas. The Thai government’s response highlights the importance of international cooperation in ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens abroad. ผู้จัดการออนไลน์ reported that the government is urging Iran to issue a formal apology for the recent incident involving a Thai vessel.

The situation remains fluid, and Thai authorities continue to monitor developments closely, providing updates and assistance to citizens in the region. Thairath has been covering the ongoing developments.
