Thailand Faces Intense Heatwave, Scattered Storms Expected

Thailand is experiencing a significant heatwave, with temperatures expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) across much of the country. While the heat persists, forecasters are also predicting scattered thunderstorms in 10-20% of the area, according to multiple reports.

The Meteorological Department forecasts that tomorrow, March 25, 2026, will bring similarly scorching conditions nationwide, coupled with the possibility of thunderstorms in 42 provinces. The extreme heat is impacting daily life and raising concerns about public health.

The forecast for March 24, 2026, indicates hot weather across many areas, with localized rainfall expected. The heatwave is expected to continue through March 29, 2026, with temperatures potentially reaching 40 degrees Celsius.

Northern Thailand is particularly affected, with temperatures already hitting the 40-degree mark. The ongoing heatwave underscores the increasing challenges posed by climate change in the region.
