The Minnesota Timberwolves ended an 18-year drought in Boston, defeating the Celtics 102-92 on Sunday, March 22, 2026. It marked the Timberwolves’ first win in Boston since 2005, breaking a frustrating 18-game losing streak at TD Garden.
Bones Hyland led the Timberwolves with 23 points, although Jaden McDaniels contributed 19. Ayo Dosunmu added 17 points, along with eight rebounds and six assists and Rudy Gobert pulled down 14 rebounds to go with nine points.
Minnesota was without All-Star guard Anthony Edwards for the fourth consecutive game due to right knee inflammation.
Despite 29 points from Jaylen Brown, and 16 points and 11 rebounds from Jayson Tatum, the Celtics couldn’t overcome a strong Timberwolves performance. Derrick White chipped in with 15 points for Boston.
The loss snapped the Celtics’ four-game winning streak and leaves them just half a game ahead of the Recent York Knicks for second place in the Eastern Conference. Minnesota, with the victory, sits sixth in the Western Conference, only one game back from the fourth seed.
