Two Allegations of Misconduct Surface Against Actor

Actor Timothy Busfield is facing serious allegations of misconduct, with an investigation reportedly dating back to 2024. A search warrant reviewed by People details two counts of alleged wrongdoing: inappropriate touching of a minor and child endangerment. The accusations involve two 11-year-old twin boys who were reportedly hired for the Warner Bros. series The Cleaning Lady. Warner Bros. released a statement saying, “We take all allegations of misconduct very seriously and have put systems in place to investigate quickly and thoroughly and, when appropriate, take action.”

According to reports, the initial allegation came from one of the children, who claimed to have been sexually abused by the actor since the age of seven. This led a physician at the University of New Mexico Hospital to file a report, triggering the current investigation.

Busfield vehemently denies the accusations, claiming they are motivated by revenge and stem from the children’s removal from the series. However, his defense is being challenged by the resurfacing of a past allegation. In 1994, a 17-year-old extra on the film Little Big accused him of sexual assault. That case was ultimately settled out of court, preventing any formal charges. The news arrives as Netflix prepares to revisit a beloved classic with a remake of “La Petite Maison dans la Prairie” (“Little House on the Prairie”), highlighting the industry’s ongoing reckoning with past behavior.

Adding to the turmoil, Busfield’s wife, Melissa Gilbert, appears to be reconsidering their marriage. According to Le Parisien, Gilbert, who has been married to Busfield since 2013, is reportedly prepared to support the alleged victims. “Melissa would never doubt the word of a child, even if it concerns her husband. She is awaiting the results of the police investigation,” a friend reportedly told the publication, adding that Gilbert has initiated divorce proceedings.
