A free update is now available for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, adding over 40 hours of additional gameplay. The fresh patch introduces an extensive Challenge Mode, additional outfits with gameplay benefits and new trophies, according to developers.
The update expands the remastered collection of the classic adventures of Lara Croft, originally released in the 1990s.
New Challenge Mode Increases Difficulty
The core of the update is the new Challenge Mode. Players can replay completed levels and modify them with various parameters.
Numerous settings can be adjusted, including:
- reduced health
- weaker weapons
- additional enemies
- altered regeneration rates
Players seeking a greater challenge can face groups of monkeys, velociraptors, mummies, and bats – sometimes equipped only with the classic pistols. Alternatively, the experience can be made significantly easier, such as by greatly increasing the health bar.
New Outfits with Gameplay Benefits
In addition to the new mode, the update expands Lara Croft’s wardrobe. Several new outfits are available, unlockable in Challenge Mode.
These outfits aren’t merely cosmetic changes; each grants Lara special bonuses or gameplay improvements.
New outfits include:
- Paragon of Peace
- Established Explorer
- Atlantean Bio-Armour
- Master-Mobster
- Dragon Warrior
- Speed Demon
- Flying High
These additions expand gameplay possibilities and allow for different playstyles.
New Trophies for Hardest Runs
Alongside the Challenge Mode, the update brings 15 new trophies to the game. These can be unlocked by increasing a player’s Challenge Rating.
This requires activating difficult modifiers and completing particularly challenging runs.
More Replay Value for the Classics
The free update provides a substantial expansion for fans of the classic Tomb Raider adventures. This move demonstrates a continued effort to revitalize classic gaming experiences for modern audiences.
The remastered collection was created in collaboration between Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics and is intended to celebrate the legacy of the series surrounding Lara Croft. The new patch is available now, free for all owners of the game.
