“A Pillar of Our Household”
On social media, the discontinuation of the ready meal has sparked dismay, with users expressing their desperation in multiple threads on Reddit.
“This has been a pillar of our household for almost three decades. It has survived toddler years, student life, rising interest rates, and pandemics. It has stood firm when the rest of the world has been unpredictable,” one user wrote, continuing, “Yes, we have tried alternatives. Yes, we have made it from scratch. It’s not the same. It will never be the same.”
According to the user, Toro Tikka Masala was more than just a product: “It’s an institution. Part of the Norwegian soul.”
Several commenters noted that the new version of Toro Tikka Masala is a disappointment and expressed a desire for the original to return. One comment stated, “Time to stockpile and list everything on Finn for 1,000 kroner a package.”
That call to action has been heeded by many, and then some.
