Trump Calls NATO Members “Cowards” Over Iran & Oil Prices

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has sharply criticized NATO allies, labeling them “cowards” in a recent post on the social media platform “Throt Social.” The remarks come amid ongoing discussions about global security commitments and financial contributions within the alliance.

According to the post, Trump stated, “Without the United States, NATO is just a hollow force. They didn’t want to join the battle to stop Iran’s nuclear capabilities.” This statement highlights a long-standing argument by Trump regarding the financial and military burden-sharing within NATO, and the perceived reliance of European allies on American support.

Trump continued, “Now that I have militarily resolved this battle, with remarkably little risk to them, they complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but they refuse to assist open the Strait of Hormuz, a simple military maneuver that is the sole reason for high oil prices.” He asserted that opening the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global oil transport, would be an easy undertaking with minimal risk.

The former president added, “They could easily do it, with very little risk.”

Concluding his post, Trump wrote, “Cowards. We won’t forget.” The strong language underscores a continuing sense of grievance over what he views as insufficient support from NATO allies on key foreign policy issues.
