President Donald Trump indicated he agrees with Israel on the desired outcome of the ongoing conflict, stating, “I reckon so. Our relationship is very good and we want pretty much the same things. We both want victory and that’s what we’ve achieved.”
Trump noted that “a lot of aid” is needed to secure the Strait of Hormuz, suggesting that the involvement of countries like China and Japan would be positive. The statement comes as international concerns grow over disruptions to global shipping lanes amid heightened regional instability.
The U.S. President also indicated that the United States does not utilize this crucial waterway as extensively as European and Asian nations, appearing to downplay its logistical importance.
Criticism of UK Response
Evaluating the United Kingdom’s decision to allow the U.S. To apply its bases for potential strikes against Iranian missile launchers targeting ships in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump characterized the move as a “very late response.”
“I was surprised by England’s stance, they should have acted much faster,” Trump said, criticizing his ally.
