Plans are underway for the construction of a substantial military base in the southern Gaza Strip, capable of housing 5,000 personnel, according to leaked documents. The base is intended to serve as a hub for the International Stabilization Force (ISF), a planned multinational peacekeeping operation.
The proposed complex will span over 350 hectares, encompassing armored guard towers, a firing range, bunkers and military storage facilities, all surrounded by barbed wire. Geophysical surveys will be conducted in phases to identify potential underground cavities or tunnels, likely linked to Hamas’s extensive network. Protocols are also in place for the handling of any human remains or cultural artifacts discovered during construction, which would temporarily halt work and require site preservation.
The ISF will operate under the auspices of the Board of Peace, a newly established international organization led by U.S. President Donald Trump and co-led by Jared Kushner. The Board of Peace aims to stabilize Gaza, and has reportedly secured approximately $17 billion in pledges toward humanitarian and reconstruction efforts, with commitments from more than half a dozen countries, MSN reports.
