أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب الجمعة أن حاملة طائرات أمريكية ثانية ستغادر “قريبا جدا” إلى الشرق الأوسط، وذلك بعدما هدد إيران بعواقب مؤلمة في حال عدم التوصل الى اتفاق بشأن برنامجها النووي.
وقال ترامب للصحفيين، في قاعدة فورت براغ العسكرية في ولاية كارولاينا الشمالية، إن حاملة الطائرات يو إس إس جيرالد آر فورد ستغادر قريباً جداً، وستكون هناك حاجة إليها إذا لم يتوصل الإيرانيون إلى اتفاق بشأن برنامجهم النووي.
ورداً على سؤال حول ما إذا كان يريد “تغييراً للنظام” في إيران، قال ترامب “يبدو أن ذلك هو أفضل ما يمكن أن يحدث”.
وأضاف: “منذ 47 عاماً، وهم يتحدثون ويتحدثون ويتحدثون. وخلال تلك الفترة، فقدنا الكثير من الأرواح”.
ويلوّح ترامب بعمل عسكري ضد إيران منذ الاحتجاجات التي اندلعت فيها أواخر دسيمبر/كانون الأول، وواجهتها السلطات بحملة من القمع أسفرت عن مقتل الآلاف.
كما أكد ترامب، أن الولايات المتحدة ينبغي أن تتوصل إلى اتفاق مع إيران، مشيراً إلى أنه يتوقع إبرام هذا الاتفاق خلال الشهر المقبل.
وأوضحت صحيفة نيويورك تايمز أنه تقرر إرسال حاملة الطائرات، يو إس إس جيرالد آر. فورد، وسفن مرافقة لها من منطقة البحر الكاريبي إلى الشرق الأوسط، مع توقعات بعدم عودتها إلى موانئها قبل أواخر أبريل/نيسان أو مطلع مايو/ أيار.
وتأتي هذه الخطوة بينما بدأ الجانبان، واشنطن وطهران، محادثات غير مباشرة الأسبوع الماضي بشأن برنامج إيران النووي، وسط تحذيرات من ترامب بخصوص “عواقب مؤلمة جداً” في حال فشل التوصل إلى اتفاق.
وانتهت محادثات ترامب ونتنياهو في واشنطن يوم الأربعاء، التي طالبت إسرائيل فيها بزيادة الضغط على إيران، بقول ترامب إنه أصر على “استمرار المفاوضات مع إيران لمعرفة ما إذا كان يمكن التوصل إلى اتفاق”.
فيما لم تحدد بعد إيران والولايات المتحدة موعداً لجولة جديدة من المحادثات بعد اللقاء الأول الأسبوع الماضي حول البرنامج النووي الإيراني.
وكانت حاملة الطائرات الأولى، يو إس إس أبراهام لنكولن، قد وصلت مع عدة مدمرات مزودة بصواريخ موجهة إلى الشرق الأوسط في يناير/ كانون الثاني.
بدوره، اعتبر المدير العام للوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية رافايل غروسي الجمعة، أن الاتفاق بين الوكالة وطهران بشأن عمليات التفتيش المتعلقة ببرنامجها النووي “أمر ممكن تماما”، ولكنه “صعب جدا”.
وكانت إيران رفضت في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر أن تتولى الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية تفتيش مواقعها التي تعرضت للقصف في يونيو/ حزيران.
وشنت إسرائيل في يونيو/ حزيران حرباً استمرت 12 يوماً ضد إيران بدعم أمريكي، والتي اعتُبرت على نطاق واسع تقويضاً لقدرات إيران النووية والباليستية.

حاملة الطائرات “يو إس إس جيرالد آر فورد” is the world’s largest aircraft carrier, accommodating more than 4,000 personnel and eight squadrons of aircraft.
Named after former U.S. President Gerald Ford, who passed away in 2006, he held the rank of lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later served as the 38th President of the United States.
The U.S. Navy has described the Ford as a “technological marvel,” stating that its planning and construction took 12 years, beginning in 2009 and culminating in its commissioning in 2017.
It differs from other aircraft carriers by featuring a new nuclear power plant, capable of generating nearly three times the amount of electrical power, as well as an electromagnetic aircraft launch system to replace the older “steam catapult” system, according to the U.S. Navy.

The carrier can carry more than 75 military aircraft, including F/A-18 Super Hornets and E-2 Hawkeye aircraft, which function as an early warning system.
It is also equipped with advanced radars for air traffic control and navigational guidance. The Gerald Ford’s supporting ships are aircraft carriers and destroyers armed with guided missiles and cruise missiles for land-to-air attacks and anti-submarine warfare.
Khamenei Praises “Million-Person Participation” in Revolution Anniversary

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, praised the widespread national participation in the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution on February 11, stating it strengthened the Islamic Republic and frustrated its “enemies.”
In a recorded message broadcast on state television, Khamenei told participants: “You accomplished a great work this year. You raised the status of Iran, increased the power of the Islamic Republic, and disappointed the enemies.”
He added that the gatherings demonstrated “greater dignity and more power and independence” for Iran, thanking citizens for their participation in the “wonderful gathering that involved a million people.”
In a post on X, he stated: “Dear Iranian people, with God’s facilitate, you accomplished this great work yesterday, and God Almighty will reward you for your presence and widespread participation, to grant you more dignity, power, and independence, God willing.”
Meanwhile, Reza Pahlavi, son of the deposed Shah and a prominent opposition figure abroad, urged citizens to undertake new protest actions alongside demonstrations outside of Iran.
Pahlavi said via social media, “I call on you to raise your voices and chant slogans from your homes and rooftops on the evenings of February 14, and 15. Express your demands. Show your unity. With unwavering determination, we will defeat this occupation regime.”
The Iranian human rights organization, Abdorrahman Boroumand Center, reported it has documented more than 7,000 deaths in Iran during the protests and clashes in recent months, and is still investigating more than 11,000 other cases.
“Following the unprecedented mass killings of protesters, the authorities of the Islamic Republic are now seeking to intimidate society by executing detained protesters,” said the organization’s director, Mahmoud Amiri-Moghadam.
Iranian authorities released two reformist figures who had been arrested in recent days following the widespread demonstrations that swept the Islamic Republic in January, according to Iranian media reports.
Hojjat Kermani, the lawyer for the spokesman of the Reform Front, Javad Emam, and former MP Ebrahim Asgharzadeh, told the ISNA news agency Thursday that his clients were released “after posting bail.”
He added in statements later carried by the “Etemad” newspaper that the head of the Reform Front, Azar Mansouri, is expected to be released “in the coming days.”
A non-governmental organization reported Thursday that a young Iranian man who participated in the national protests in January faces a death sentence after being convicted of killing a police officer during those demonstrations.
The Iran Human Rights organization, based in Norway, said Saleh Mohammadi, 18, has been sentenced to death, although the Iranian judiciary confirmed that no final and “executable” sentence has been issued yet.
Iran’s Chief Justice, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, warned that there would be “no leniency” with those convicted of acts of violence during the protests.
Rights groups have accused security forces of killing thousands of people during the suppression of the protests, which authorities have blamed on the United States and Israel.
