Long lines are forming in multiple Turkish cities as residents seek out affordable bread amid rising costs of living. The situation highlights growing economic pressures on Turkish households.

In Elazığ, residents reportedly waited in queues for hours to purchase bread at a reduced price of 5 Turkish lira, according to multiple reports. Cumhuriyet and Elazığ Haber Kent detailed the lengthy waits for the discounted loaves.

Similar scenes are unfolding in Kırşehir, where queues for affordable bread continue despite ongoing efforts to address the issue. Kırşehir Çiğdem reported that the demand for lower-priced bread remains high.

The economic strain is also impacting other areas, with reports of a woman being fatally shot in İzmir and a family tragedy in Kırşehir where a young couple was found buried, according to Sözcü Gazetesi.

Meanwhile, Kırşehir is also dealing with political issues, including allegations of bribery involving a local politician and concerns over the long-term lease of a state-owned dormitory to a youth organization, TÜGVA. Sözcü Gazetesi reported on these developments.
