TYSVÆR, Norway (AP) — At 9:45 p.m. Sunday, Tysvær mayor Monika Lindanger told Haugesunds Avis that key municipal officials had gathered at the town hall in Aksdal to assess the situation.
— What You can confirm at this time is that two adult men have been air‑lifted to Haukeland Hospital. Both were residents of Tysvær, Lindanger said Sunday night.

She added that relatives have been notified and the crisis team has been activated.
— We are closely monitoring the situation and remain in constant contact with police, Lindanger said.
Police received a call at 6:40 p.m. Sunday reporting cries for help from Aksdalsvatnet.
All emergency services were on the scene by 6:52 p.m., and the two individuals were located at 7:07 p.m.
Officials said the men’s condition was critical Sunday night. Early Monday, authorities confirmed that both men had died, highlighting the hazards of winter ice on local lakes.
