The United Arab Emirates’ air defenses are currently intercepting incoming missile and drone attacks originating from Iran, officials confirmed on Tuesday, March 19, 2026. The reported sounds heard across various areas of the country are a result of the air defense systems engaging both ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Ministry of Defense stated that its systems are actively countering the threats. This latest escalation comes after reports of similar missile threats on Tuesday, and incoming Iranian missile and drone threats on Monday.
According to data shared online, UAE air defenses have intercepted 10 ballistic missiles and 45 drones on Tuesday alone, bringing the total to 314 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,672 drones intercepted to date. The reports also indicate that two soldiers have been killed and six civilians have died, with 157 others injured in the attacks.
The UAE military has stated it is on full alert. The ongoing attacks underscore the heightened tensions in the region and raise concerns about potential further escalation. The situation is being closely monitored by international observers, as it could significantly influence future diplomatic efforts and regional stability.
