Russian attacks across Ukraine overnight on February 22 and 23, 2026, resulted in at least three deaths in the Zaporizhzhia and Odesa regions, as Moscow continues its aerial assault on the country. The strikes, involving drones and missiles, targeted multiple areas, highlighting the ongoing vulnerability of Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.

In the Odesa region, two people were killed when a Russian drone struck a truck, igniting a fire that too damaged other vehicles and nearby facilities, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS). Three others were injured, with two in serious condition, and are receiving medical attention.

Meanwhile, in Zaporizhzhia, a 33-year-old man was killed and a 45-year-old man injured after an industrial facility was hit in the early hours of February 23. Ivan Fedorov, head of Zaporizhzhia’s regional military administration, reported significant damage to the industrial infrastructure.

The attacks extended beyond Odesa and Zaporizhzhia. Reports indicate a major drone attack on the port of Chornomorsk, with at least 28 drones reportedly deployed, most reaching their targets. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Further north, a rocket attack was reported in Kharkiv, and on Saturday evening, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack with 50 missiles and numerous drones targeting Kyiv, resulting in one fatality. These escalating attacks underscore the intensity of the conflict and the widespread impact on civilian populations.

The development underscores growing regional tensions as Ukraine continues to seek international support in the face of ongoing aggression.
