On March 2nd, Podimo will launch the podcast “Mammachatten” featuring Ulrikke Brandstorp (30), Pernille Molvær Maurstad (34), and Ragnhild Margrethe Grødal (36), according to a press release.

The trio aims to create what they hope will be Norway’s largest support group for new mothers, in audio format.

“Mammachatten is a warm, honest, and funny conversational podcast for anyone new to motherhood, or right in the middle of it,” the press release states.

The three mothers openly discuss everything from sleepless nights and autopilot feeding, to a changing body, relationship pressures, financial concerns during parental leave, and the search for an expanded identity.

“We missed a place where you can say what you mean. Where you can laugh at the chaos, cry a little, disagree and still stand together. ‘Mammachatten’ is the support group we ourselves needed,” says Ulrikke Brandstorp.

Will Feature Experts

In addition to the three hosts, a panel of experts will also join the conversation. Listeners will receive honest and clarifying answers from a midwife, general practitioner, psychologist, sexologist, sleep consultant, and financial advisor, to questions many feel but don’t always dare to ask.

“There’s a lot of love in mom talk, but also a lot of guilt. We want to create a space without ‘mom-shaming.’ No right answers, just experiences, and honest conversations about what actually happens after childbirth,” says Pernille Molvær Maurstad.

The topics range from birth stories they haven’t told before, to intimacy after childbirth, a body that feels foreign, financial concerns during parental leave, and how relationships change when you become a mother. But the ambition doesn’t stop at the microphone.

“It’s easy to feel alone, even if you know you’re not. We hope ‘Mammachatten’ can become more than a podcast – a universe, a group of mothers who find each other, share experiences and maybe even meet outside the podcast bubble. You’re not just a listener. You’re part of the mom chat,” says Ragnhild Margrethe Grødal.

Uncompromising Honesty

With “Mammachatten,” Podimo is taking a clear stance on a topic that is often packaged in filters and facades.

Ulrikke Brandstorp, Pernille Molvær Maurstad, and Ragnhild Margrethe Grødal have shown over the past year – both in interviews and publicly – that they don’t hold back.

“Stian Letessier, content manager at Podimo Norway, says, “Ulrikke, Pernille and Ragnhild have a knack for putting things into words that many people feel but few talk about openly. They combine warmth and humor with a honesty that gives the conversations weight. That makes them strong voices in a podcast that should encompass the entire spectrum of becoming a mom – even what isn’t always so polished.”

New episodes of “Mammachatten” will be released every Monday, exclusively on Podimo.
