United Airlines Announces New Flights to Four European Cities Starting in 2026

United Airlines will expand its international network with new, non-stop flights to Bari, Italy; Glasgow, Scotland; Split, Croatia; and Santiago de Compostela, Spain, beginning in the summer of 2026, offering travelers increased access to diverse European destinations.

The Chicago-based carrier announced the routes yesterday, detailing service from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). United will be the only U.S. airline offering direct service to Bari and Glasgow, and will also operate the only non-stop flights to Split and Santiago de Compostela. These additions are part of a larger plan to increase United’s transatlantic routes to 46 cities by 2026, signaling a significant investment in its international presence.

Flights to Split, Croatia will begin April 30, 2026, operating three times weekly with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. Service to Bari, Italy will launch May 1, 2026, with four weekly flights also on the 767-300ER. Shorter routes to Glasgow, Scotland, starting May 8, 2026, and Santiago de Compostela, Spain, beginning May 22, 2026, will utilize the Boeing 737 MAX 8. Travelers interested in exploring options for flights can find more information on United’s website. For information on travel to Croatia, visit the official Croatia tourism website.

In addition to these new routes, United will reinstate all nine seasonal routes launched last summer, including service to Nuuk, Greenland, and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and increase service to Iceland, Israel, and South Korea. The airline plans to continue service to all destinations introduced during its 2025 expansion, a move uncommon among airlines.

United officials stated the expansion reflects continued demand for international travel and a commitment to providing customers with more options.
