Google is offering expanded cloud storage and access to its artificial intelligence capabilities through its Google One subscription service. The service, launched in May 2018, replaced previous paid Google Drive options and now encompasses multiple Google services.

Currently, Google One offers five tiers of service. The Basic plan provides 100 GB of storage for $2 per month or $20 per year. A 200 GB Standard plan is available for $3 monthly. The Premium plan, costing $10 per month or $100 annually, offers 2 TB of storage, unlimited Magic Editor saves in Google Photos, and 10 percent back on purchases from the Google Store. These plans can be shared with up to five family members.

For users seeking enhanced AI features, Google One too provides two additional tiers. The AI Pro plan, priced at $20 per month, includes all the benefits of the Premium plan, plus access to Google’s Gemini Pro, Flow Pro, Whisk Pro, 1,000 AI Credits, NotebookLM Pro, and Gemini integration within Gmail, Docs, and Vids, as well as Google Home Premium Standard. A higher-tier, Google AI Ultra, provides 30 TB of storage and advanced AI capabilities for a monthly fee, with promotional pricing available for the first three months.

Every Google account already includes 15 GB of free cloud storage shared across Google Drive, Google Photos, and Gmail. Google One provides a way to expand that storage and access additional features. The service currently has over 150 million subscribers as of May 2025.

The Google One app reached over one billion downloads on Android as of January 2023. Previously, a VPN service was available to Google One users with 2 TB plans or higher, but this feature was discontinued on June 20, 2024. The Magic Eraser editing feature in Google Photos, once exclusive to Pixel phone owners, is now available to all Google One subscribers.

Google One bundles cloud storage, AI capabilities, and features across Google apps in a single subscription. The availability of these services and specific plan details may vary by region.

More information about Google One plans and pricing can be found online. Additional details about the service’s history and features are available on Wikipedia.
