Three U.S. Bombers have arrived at a Royal Air Force base as the Pentagon prepares to escalate its recent strikes against Iran. The move signals a potential intensification of the ongoing conflict in the region.
One B-1 Lancer bomber landed at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, southern England, on Friday evening, March 6, 2026, according to Middle East Eye.
Two additional bombers arrived at the same base on Saturday morning, March 7, 2026.

The airbase in Gloucestershire is expected to receive more U.S. Military aircraft in the coming week.
The B-1 Lancer bomber has a price tag of up to $2 billion per unit and can carry 24 cruise missiles, enabling it to conduct long-range missions undetected.
According to the U.S. Air Force, the bomber is capable of “quickly delivering a massive amount of precision and non-precision ordnance against any enemy, anywhere in the world, at any time.”
A U.S. C-5 Galaxy cargo aircraft, the largest in the U.S. Military’s fleet, also arrived at the British base on Friday, March 6, 2026.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated on Thursday, March 5, 2026, that the U.S. Would use British bases to “dramatically” increase its attacks on Iran.
“When we say more is coming, that means more fighter squadrons, more capability, more defensive capability, and more bomber strikes more frequently,” he said.
The use of British bases for U.S. Attacks against Iran follows criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who was accused of being “not helpful.” Starmer initially blocked U.S. Access to the joint U.K.-U.S. Base at Diego Garcia in the Chagos Islands for operations against Iran.
Starmer announced on Sunday, March 8, 2026, that the U.S. Would be permitted to use British military bases to target Iranian missile sites.
