The United States has launched a “major combat operation” against Iran, according to President Donald Trump. Israel, working in concert with the U.S., is conducting the operation with the goal of “dismantling the terrorist regime in Iran,” stated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Iran responded to the U.S. And Israeli strikes by launching missiles toward cities in Israel and Gulf nations hosting U.S. Military forces.
In a video statement released prior to the attacks, Trump urged the Iranian people to capitalize on the large-scale assault to overthrow the ruling clerical establishment.
“When we are finished, take back your government. It will be yours. This may be your only chance in generations,” he said.
He also told members of Iran’s security forces they would be granted “immunity” if they laid down their weapons, warning that continued fighting would result in “certain death.”
Netanyahu echoed similar sentiments.
“The time has come for all segments of Iranian society—the Persian, Kurdish, Azeri, Baluchi, and Ahwazi peoples—to break free from the shackles of tyranny and realize a free and peaceful Iran,” Netanyahu stated.
Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that President Prabowo Subianto expressed his readiness to facilitate dialogue to restore a conducive security situation.
“If agreed upon by both sides, the President of Indonesia is willing to travel to Tehran to mediate,” the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry released a statement acknowledging awareness of the “intentions” of the United States and Israel to launch an attack, but affirmed its continued commitment to ongoing negotiations.
The statement also noted that the attacks occurred “while Iran and the United States were in the midst of diplomatic processes.”
The third round of indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the U.S. Took place two days prior, on February 26, in Geneva, Switzerland—without yielding a breakthrough.
Iran and the U.S. Had previously held five rounds of negotiations in May 2025, but those efforts also failed to produce progress.
A sixth round, scheduled for June 2025, was canceled after Israel launched a surprise attack on targets within Iran, triggering a 12-day conflict. During that period, the U.S. Struck three major Iranian nuclear facilities.
What Happened?
Shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tehran time (1:00 p.m. WIB), Iran’s Fars news agency reported explosions in the cities of Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah, as well as in the capital, Tehran.

In Tehran, the office of the Supreme Leader of Iran and the presidential office were reportedly among the targets.
Photos viewed by the BBC showed smoke rising in the Jomhouri Square and Hassan Abad Square areas of Tehran.

Several military installations in Kermanshah, Qom, Isfahan, Tabriz and Karaj, as well as an Iranian naval facility in Kenarak, in the country’s south, were also reportedly hit.
A video from the small town of Kamyaran, in the Kurdistan region, showed a Revolutionary Guard Corps base being struck by a bomb.
The extent of casualties or injuries remains unknown at this time.
Iran’s Tasnim news agency stated that Iranian airspace had been closed since the attacks began.

Responses within Iran to the attacks have been varied.
Video footage circulating on social media showed residents near the blast sites running in panic, accompanied by screams and cries.
However, there was also a sense of relief among some, and others appeared to celebrate the attacks, believing that the fall of the regime could only come through military intervention.
Many Iranian citizens have long anticipated the possibility of a U.S. Attack, and public reaction has been divided.
“If I die, remember that we also exist—those who oppose military strikes, those who will develop into mere numbers in casualty reports,” one Iranian citizen wrote on social media.
How Did Iran Respond?
Iran retaliated with a barrage of missiles.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had identified missiles launched from Iran toward Israeli territory, and stated it was working to “intercept and counter every threat if necessary.”
“Sirens sounded in a number of areas across the country following the detection of missiles launched from Iran,” the IDF said.
Explosions were reported in the city of Haifa and other locations in Israel.

Israeli authorities have advised citizens to refrain from gathering and to avoid going to school or work unless absolutely necessary. The guidelines are in effect until Monday at 8:00 p.m.
Israeli media also reported that the country’s airspace was closed to civilian flights.
Iran’s Tasnim news agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated that “all U.S. Bases and interests in the region have been targeted by Iranian missiles.”
Numerous videos began to emerge showing retaliatory attacks by Iran in various parts of the Middle East, including in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan.
U.S. Air bases scattered throughout the region were believed to be the targets of Iranian military action.
In Doha, Qatar’s Ministry of Defense stated it had intercepted several missiles believed to be targeting Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. Military base in the Gulf region.
Bahrain was also among the Gulf states hit by attacks. Bahrain’s government said a service center for the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet “was targeted by a missile attack.” The Fifth Fleet is responsible for U.S. Naval operations in the Gulf, Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and parts of the Indian Ocean.
The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the country had been subjected to “a blatant attack involving ballistic missiles from Iran.”
The U.S. Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, in southern Abu Dhabi, alongside the UAE Air Force.
What Did Trump Say?
Donald Trump announced that the United States had initiated a “major combat operation” against Iran. He accused the Iranian regime of waging a “relentless campaign of bloodshed and mass murder targeting the United States.”
The U.S. President released a video on Truth Social shortly after explosions were reported in Tehran, Iran’s capital.
• He claimed Iran had rejected every opportunity to halt its nuclear ambitions and continued to develop long-range missiles capable of threatening U.S. Allies in Europe, U.S. Forces abroad, and “soon be able to reach American soil.”
• Trump said the U.S. Would destroy Iran’s missile industry “to the ground” and “annihilate” its navy.
• He added that the Iranian regime had been shouting “Death to America” for 47 years.
• “American heroes may be lost, and we may suffer casualties,” he said.
• “Your time to take back your freedom has come,” Trump told the Iranian people, urging them to “take back your government.”
What is Indonesia’s Response?
Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated it deeply regretted the failure of negotiations between the U.S. And Iran, which has led to escalating military tensions in the Middle East.
Indonesia called on all parties to exercise restraint and prioritize dialogue and diplomacy.
Indonesia reiterated the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each country and resolving differences peacefully.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Prabowo Subianto expressed his readiness to facilitate dialogue to restore a conducive security situation.
“If agreed upon by both sides, the President of Indonesia is willing to travel to Tehran to mediate,” the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Regarding the fate of Indonesian citizens, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised Indonesians in the affected areas to remain calm, vigilant, follow the directions of local authorities, and maintain communication with the nearest Indonesian representative.
