US Postal Service to Hold Hiring Fairs for Automotive and Driving Positions in Los Angeles

The U.S. Postal Service will host a series of in-person hiring fairs throughout November to fill critical automotive and driving positions in the Los Angeles District, as the agency works to maintain its massive fleet and ensure timely mail delivery.

The hiring events will take place on Fridays – November 7, 14, and 21 – from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Los Angeles District Office located at 7001 S Central Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90052. Specialists will be on hand to assist candidates with the application process and profile creation. Available positions include Automotive Technician, Lead Automotive Technician, Motor Vehicle Operator, Tractor Trailer Operator, and Maintenance Mechanic. These roles are posted weekly, from Saturday through Friday, on the Postal Service’s eCareer application system.

Starting salaries are $65,693 per year for Automotive Technicians and $72,372 per year for Lead Automotive Technicians. The Postal Service offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as paid vacation and sick leave. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and demonstrate a safe driving record, and will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and meet citizenship or permanent resident alien status requirements. More information about applying for Postal Service jobs can be found on the USAJOBS website.

Officials stated that all positions require examination, and applicants should review individual job announcements for specific details. The Postal Service encourages qualified individuals to attend the hiring fairs and explore these career opportunities.
