The rider from Wonosari etched his name in the record books as the first Indonesian to reach the podium in a Grand Prix. But it wasn’t just his performance on the track that garnered respect and admiration, but also his actions after the race.

During the podium celebrations, Veda Ega Pratama, a Muslim, was seen avoiding the champagne spray. His quick movements were captured on camera as he stepped behind the stage wall.

The champagne spray is a customary tradition following the winner’s national anthem. However, Veda Ega chose to move away from the celebration.

Only after Quiles and Morelli finished spraying each other did Veda rejoin them. Even during the celebratory fist bump, Veda held a bottle of energy drink.

The third-place finish in Brazil also elevates Veda Ega Pratama’s position in the Moto3 2026 World Championship standings. He now sits third with 27 points.
