Toyota has begun sales of the Veloz Hybrid, with special pricing starting at Rp303 million (approximately $19,000 USD), as the automaker expands its hybrid electric vehicle (EV) offerings in Indonesia. The launch, announced Tuesday, January 10, is part of a broader strategy to provide more accessible mobility solutions to Indonesian consumers, according to the company.

The Veloz Hybrid EV is available at a special price of Rp303 million for the V trim level, valid through June 2026. At the 2026 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), buyers of the Veloz Hybrid EV may also qualify for a special interest rate of 2.85 percent with a one-year tenor. Toyota is also offering a resale value guarantee of up to 70 percent after three years of ownership, providing added security for customers.

The introduction of the Veloz Hybrid follows a similar rollout strategy to the Innova Zenix, with the gasoline engine version remaining available alongside the hybrid model. “In terms of the line-up, the Avanza-Veloz is the same, plus the hybrid (version),” said Nandi Julyanto, President Director of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) in Jakarta. This approach reflects Toyota’s broader electrification marketing strategy in the country.

Toyota reported strong sales figures for the Kijang Innova in July 2025, with wholesale distribution reaching 4,311 units, making it the best-selling car in Indonesia for that month. The Toyota Avanza followed closely with 3,348 units sold. The company anticipates continued demand for both gasoline and hybrid models.

The Veloz Hybrid is also being targeted for sales in East Java, with Toyota aiming to sell 500 units per month in the region. The vehicle was recently introduced in Surabaya as a key offering for the company in that market. The launch of the Veloz Hybrid EV and the completion of the Nusa Cross expedition signaled the start of sales, with prices ranging from Rp308 to Rp385 million.

At IIMS 2026, Toyota is showcasing its complete range of hybrid EV models and offering special sales programs. The company’s marketing director, Jap Ernando Demily, stated that the initiatives are designed to provide convenience and added value for customers. “This initiative, coupled with the launch of Toyota’s range of Hybrid EV models from various segments, is a form of Toyota’s commitment to bringing more relevant, accessible and appropriate mobility solutions to the Indonesian people,” he said.
