Venezuela jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, capitalizing on the speed of Ronald Acuña, who reached base and advanced, ultimately scoring on a sacrifice fly by Jackson Chourio to make it 1-0. Acuña extended the lead in the third with a solo home run, pushing the score to 2-0.
Acuña continued to be a catalyst for the Venezuelan offense, contributing to a 3-0 advantage in the fifth inning with a single that brought William Contreras home. The final run of the game, making it 4-0, came in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Wilyer Abreu following a double by Luis Arráez.
