Singer Vidi Aldiano has died at the age of 35, on Saturday, March 7, 2026. In recent years, he had been battling cancer in his left kidney.
News about his kidney cancer first came from Vidi himself through an Instagram post @vidialdiano on December 13, 2019. At the time, he was preparing to undergo surgery in Singapore.
In the post, he revealed that the cancer was discovered after an ‘anomaly’ was found during a checkup. Initially thought to be a cyst, further examination revealed ‘something else’ which turned out to be cancer.

“Just last week I found out there’s cancer in my kidney. Specifically, in my left kidney,” he explained at the time.
During a 2023 podcast appearance, the husband of Sheila Dara explained that his cancer had already reached stage 3. This meant the cancer cells had begun to spread to surrounding organs.
“Maybe many people don’t know that last year, this gift from God in the form of cancer had spread to several points, which meant I had a ‘spa day’ appointment every three weeks,” Vidi said.
“As time went on, I learn to make peace with my condition and be grateful for whatever God has given me throughout these years,” he added.
In 2020, Vidi was initially declared cancer-free. However, a checkup in 2021 revealed the cancer had returned, requiring further therapy including chemotherapy.
Through an Instagram post, Vidi marked six years as a cancer warrior with a reflection. “So many changes since that day. Many priorities have shifted. Mindset shifted,” he wrote.
For Vidi, cancer taught him the meaning of patience, sincerity, acceptance and the importance of loving those closest to him with all his heart. He accepted the illness as part of his life’s journey.
Vidi Aldiano passed away on Saturday, March 7. The news was confirmed by Imarindo from the Indonesian Artist Managers Association, via a text message on Saturday afternoon.
