ViewDock has launched a new mini-PC, the ViewDock G2, featuring a built-in display and a 15W wireless charging pad. The device, which first appeared on Kickstarter last year, offers a unique combination of functionality and expandability, catering to users seeking a compact yet powerful computing solution.
The ViewDock G2 measures 175 x 138 x 51 mm and supports up to 64 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM in dual-channel mode. It too includes dual M.2 2280 slots for storage expansion, alongside a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port and a USB4 port for connecting external GPUs (eGPUs). This level of connectivity positions the G2 as a versatile option for both everyday tasks and more demanding applications.
The mini-PC will ship with a choice of AMD Ryzen processors, including the Ryzen 9 6900HX, Ryzen 5 7640H, Ryzen 7 7735H, Ryzen 7 7840H, Ryzen 9 7940H, or the Ryzen 7 8845H – the latter of which is already found in the Minisforum UM870 Slim. The company has not yet provided detailed performance comparisons between the different processor options, but notes that significant differences in efficiency and performance exist between the APUs.
Pricing for the ViewDock G2 starts at $639 for the first 200 units backed on Kickstarter. Higher-configuration models are also available, priced at $889 (16 GB RAM, 512 GB storage), $999 (16 GB or 32 GB RAM, 1 TB storage), and $1,299 (32 GB RAM, 1 TB storage). The company plans to initiate shipping to backers in August 2026.
ViewDock successfully shipped the original ViewDock Docking Station last year. However, the company cautions potential backers that, as with any crowdfunding campaign, delivery delays or a complete loss of funds remain possible.
