Actor Vijay Babu has addressed a shift in his relationship with Rima Kallingal, attributing it to professional dynamics rather than personal factors. The comments, made on Thursday, February 19, 2026, come as the actor reflects on his career and collaborations within the Malayalam film industry.

According to reports, Babu stated, “No one created space for me. the change came in my friendship with Rima Kallingal.” This statement appears to respond to recent discussions surrounding the credit for the success of the film ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra,’ which grossed 300 crore.

Babu previously clarified on Facebook that the credit for ‘Lokah’ belongs entirely to Wayfarer Films and the film’s team. He also referenced earlier films, stating, “Thank God no one took credit for Vaishali, Unniyarcha, and Panchagni.” This post was seen as a response to comments made by WCC member Rima Kallingal regarding the film’s success.

The actor’s statements come after a previous controversy surrounding the teaser of Yash’s film ‘Toxic,’ where director Geetu Mohandas’s defense of the teaser’s content and Kallingal’s support sparked criticism from Babu, who referred to them as “the queens of double standards.” The Malayalam film industry has seen increased scrutiny of collaborative dynamics and credit attribution in recent months, making this exchange particularly noteworthy.
