Villa Lidköping Advances to Semifinals, Faces Västerås SK Again
Villa Lidköping is moving on to the semifinals of the Swedish Bandy League playoffs, setting up a highly anticipated rematch against Västerås SK. The team secured their spot after defeating Skirö in three matches, and will now face their rivals in the first semifinal game on Thursday, February 28th.
The first game of the semifinal series will be held at Sparbanken Lidköping Arena, with a 7:00 PM start time. Over 3,000 tickets have already been sold for the match, with 3064 of the 4250 available seats claimed. Tickets are still available for purchase.
This isn’t the first time these two teams have met in the playoffs; they faced off in last year’s SM final. Villa Lidköping is aiming for their seventh consecutive SM final appearance. The team has a strong track record, having won the Swedish Championship in 2019, 2021, 2024, and 2025, while the women’s team has secured titles in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Villa recently demonstrated their strength with a decisive 7-2 victory against Västerås SK in an away game, forcing a fifth and decisive semifinal match scheduled for Monday. Felix Persson scored twice in the first half, and Victor Petersson added a goal that sparked some controversy. This win followed a dramatic 4-3 victory for Västerås SK on Monday, February 23rd, which tied the series at 1-1.
The women’s team will also face Västerås SK in the semifinals on March 1st at 2:00 PM at Sparbanken Lidköping Arena. Fans can purchase tickets for this game as well.
The SM finals for both men’s and women’s teams are scheduled for March 15th. Fans can also participate in the 50/50 lottery, with a current prize pool of 88,100 SEK. Lottery tickets are available for purchase.
