A suspect is in custody following a violent incident involving several young people at the Vilvoorde train station on Friday evening, authorities confirmed. The incident, which was captured on camera and circulated on social media, has prompted a judicial investigation.
According to reports, the altercation began around 6:25 p.m. On Friday, March 7, 2026, when a dispute broke out between a group of young people at the station. Video footage of the event shows the victim surrounded by four individuals, with three physically assaulting him. The victim was struck multiple times and thrown to the ground, where he was kicked.
Police stated that the victim was transported to a hospital but did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
“One of the suspects is currently in custody,” said a spokesperson for the Halle-Vilvoorde prosecutor’s office. The prosecutor’s office has launched a judicial investigation into the incident.
