A photograph of a California police officer cradling a French bulldog has sparked a wave of online attention, quickly going viral on social media. The image, posted by the Burbank Police Department on February 18, 2026, has garnered nearly half a million likes and almost 7,000 comments on Instagram.

The post detailed the heartwarming encounter: “During a call for service, Officer Christian Parks was greeted by two sweet French bulldogs! He could not resist petting, holding & and snapping a photo with them! Police officers love dogs.”

Image Goes Viral

“First-class flight to the comment section: I was not disappointed,” read one recent post under the photo. Many users have expressed how attractive they identify the officer, with comments ranging from playful to overtly flirtatious. “I stole $2,000 worth of merchandise from Target. I challenge you to arrest me. I’m in the parking lot by the third light behind the black Honda,” one comment stated. Another user wrote, “I identify as a dog if Officer Parks wants to pick me up too.”

One commenter expressed concern, asking, “Has anyone seen my wife in these comments?” even as another noted, “The Burbank Police knew exactly what they were doing with this picture.”

Officer is Married

The officer’s profile, Christian Parks, was likewise linked in the comment section, revealing that he is, to the dismay of many admirers, married.

The Burbank Police Department is capitalizing on the attention, sharing multiple news articles about the viral post and accompanying them with songs like “My Hero” by Foo Fighters and “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga, according to the Independent.

“We’ve enjoyed the positive response to the recently posted Instagram photo featuring Officer Parks,” the department stated. “The photo certainly garnered attention, but moments like these show the human side of police officers.”
