The collaboration aims to accelerate the deployment of AI capabilities while prioritizing user privacy and real-time performance.

During MediaTek’s “AI for Life” keynote, Jason Liao, President of the OPPO Research Institute, emphasized the deepening partnership between the two companies. “On-device Compute is a cornerstone of OPPO’s AI strategy, making AI a perceptible, real-time experience integrated into everyday usage,” Liao stated. This focus on “On-device Compute” is central to OPPO’s broader AI strategy, which centers on “Recent Computing, New Perception, and New Ecosystem.”

These advancements are being powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 platform, enabling OPPO’s self-developed on-device AI Translate and AI Portrait Glow features to achieve performance comparable to cloud-based solutions. These features are slated to become available to users of the OPPO Find X9 series through the upcoming ColorOS 16 software update, according to OPPO.

Vivo confirmed plans to launch the device globally, marking a strategic milestone in its evolution as a global technology leader.

Vivo is also showcasing the X300 Series, vivo X Fold5, and V70 Series at the event, with hands-on demonstrations illustrating the integration of advanced technologies in imaging, AI, and system performance. The company’s presence at MWC 2026 underscores its commitment to the premium segment and deeper engagement with the global mobile ecosystem.

Reports from other outlets indicate that Vivo’s X300 Ultra is now available globally and features the new 400mm Zeiss telephoto lens.
