The device aims to deliver a premium mobile experience without sacrificing key features, a proposition increasingly rare in a market often prioritizing screen size. This new offering from Vivo boasts flagship-level specifications, including a high-resolution camera and robust battery life, all within a more pocketable design reminiscent of the iPhone Pro series.

In a market often defined by larger devices and compromised “regular” models, Vivo is bucking the trend, delivering a smaller form factor with nearly all the capabilities of its Pro-level counterparts.
The X300 immediately stands out due to its size. Featuring a 6.31-inch display, the device boasts a significantly smaller footprint than its predecessors, such as the X200, and many other Android flagships. Its dimensions – reminiscent of a non-Max iPhone Pro – offer a comfortable, lightweight grip at approximately 190 grams. The phone’s premium build incorporates a smooth, matte glass finish and a robust aluminum frame.
Durability is also a key feature, with the X300 offering both IP68 and IP69 ratings, protecting it from submersion and high-pressure water jets. Despite its compact size, the phone doesn’t skimp on essential physical features, including stereo speakers, an IR blaster, eSIM support, wireless charging, and a rarely-seen USB-C 3.2 port. This port enables data transfer speeds up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 and supports display output, a welcome addition as some manufacturers reduce port specifications on their higher-end devices.
The only minor drawback lies in the speaker tuning, which leans towards treble, resulting in a slightly tinny sound. A deeper bass response and improved balance would elevate the X300 to being one of the most well-rounded compact flagships currently available.
Vivo hasn’t compromised on display quality despite the compact form factor. The 6.31-inch panel utilizes LTPO technology with an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz – a feature typically reserved for Pro-level models from other brands. The 1.5K resolution delivers a sharp image, and the screen’s peak brightness ensures excellent visibility even in direct sunlight. This focus on display technology underscores the growing importance of visual experience in the smartphone market.
The phone’s user interface runs on the latest OriginOS, offering a modern aesthetic, more fluid animations, and expanded customization options compared to previous generations. These changes contribute to a more intuitive and engaging user experience.
Powering the X300 is the Dimensity 9500 chipset, the same processor found in the Pro series, paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. In everyday use, the phone delivers smooth multitasking, handles demanding applications, and caters to mobile content creators with ease.
Gaming performance is strong, though a slight difference exists compared to the Pro variant. In graphically intensive games like Genshin Impact, the X300 initially maintains a high frame rate, but temperatures begin to rise after 30 minutes of play, reaching 48 degrees Celsius on the front and 45 degrees Celsius on the back.
Due to the limitations of the cooling system in a compact device, performance drops to around 50 FPS. However, this reduction isn’t drastic and remains playable. Lighter games, such as Mobile Legends, maintain stable temperatures below 40 degrees Celsius and deliver consistently smooth performance.
Perhaps the biggest surprise with the Vivo X300 is its battery capacity. Despite its small size, the phone houses a 6,040 mAh battery, exceeding the capacity of the iPhone 17 Pro and even surpassing the 5,000 mAh batteries found in some Samsung Galaxy Ultra models.
Real-world battery life is impressive. Streaming YouTube for one hour consumes approximately 7 percent of the battery. A 30-minute session of Mobile Legends uses around 9 percent. Playing Genshin Impact for 30 minutes drains about 17 percent. With typical daily use, the X300 often retains 20-30 percent battery life at the end of the day.
Charging is exceptionally fast, with the included 90W charger taking the battery from 0 percent to 13 percent in just 5 minutes, 63 percent in 30 minutes, and fully charging the device in under an hour.
Despite its compact design, the X300 doesn’t compromise on camera capabilities. The primary sensor is a 200 MP unit with OIS, producing detailed, clean images with minimal noise. A 50 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom captures distant subjects with clarity, while a 50 MP ultrawide and a 50 MP selfie camera deliver consistent color accuracy.
Low-light camera performance is also satisfying. Photos taken at night, even in limited lighting conditions, retain good detail without excessive sharpening. Video recording supports up to 4K at 60 fps with solid stabilization and a wide dynamic range.
Vivo’s X300 successfully challenges the notion that smaller phones necessitate compromises.
