Lukas Vorlicky scored his first goal for Zbrojovka Brno on Monday, sparking a 2-0 victory over Artis in a Czech Second League match.

Vorlicky, on loan from Slavia Prague, entered the match at halftime and made an immediate impact, finding the back of the net in the 81st minute. The goal was his first since September, when he scored for Slavia Prague’s reserve team against Zbrojovka Brno.

The match was played in front of nearly nine thousand fans at the Shared City Stadium in Brno, with Zbrojovka supporters displaying a large banner referencing their strong fanbase.

Artis suffered a setback in the first half when Radim Breite was sent off with a red card in stoppage time after receiving his second yellow card of the match.

“We had a plan for Vorlicky to enter the game even before the sending off,” said Zbrojovka assistant coach Jan Baránek, who filled in for head coach Martin Svědík, who lost his voice. “The red card made it a game for him, and he showed he’s accepted the role of a wildcard. His attitude is excellent.”

Vorlicky nearly set up a goal earlier in the second half, finding Granečný, whose attempt was saved off the crossbar by Artis goalkeeper Borek.

Four minutes after his goal, Gjorgievskij added a second for Zbrojovka, heading the ball into the net to seal the victory.

“We have twenty-five players who deserve to play, based on how they approach games and training,” Baránek added. “Everyone is pulling in the same direction. Eleven players start, five come off the bench, but everyone is a game-changer.”

Zbrojovka goalkeeper Adam Hrdina also earned praise for a crucial save in the 78th minute, denying Vukadinović after a poor back pass from Kaká.

“Adam saved us there, it was a great save,” Baránek said. “Kaká was told that we are one team, and if one player makes a mistake, the others will support him.”
