Penn Women’s Soccer to Face Columbia in Ivy League Match
The University of Pennsylvania women’s soccer team will travel to New York City this Sunday to compete against Columbia University in an Ivy League matchup.
The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, and will be broadcast on ESPN+. Penn enters the contest with a 4-3-4 overall record and a 0-2-1 record in Ivy League play, while Columbia is 4-5-2 overall and 2-1-0 in conference games. Historically, the series favors Columbia with a record of 14-15-4, with their most recent meeting resulting in a 3-0 victory for the Lions in 2024.
The Quakers’ offense has shown improvement this season, already surpassing last year’s goal total with 16 goals scored compared to 13 in the previous season, and are on pace to exceed last year’s shot total. Junior Magali Capdevila has been a key offensive player against Columbia, with three shots on goal in her last two games against them. Freshmen Kylie Emanuel and sophomore Eden Veenema recently scored their first collegiate goals against NJIT, while sophomore Lily White has recorded eight shots in her last five contests.
