World of Warcraft: Midnight is officially launching tomorrow, March 2nd (March 3rd in Poland), but early access has already begun. Players are getting a first seem at the updates Blizzard has prepared, and the revamped Silvermoon has made a particularly strong impression.

A Rebuilt Capital City

Silvermoon, the capital city of the blood elves, first appeared in World of Warcraft in 2007 with the release of The Burning Crusade expansion. Now, 19 years later, it has undergone a significant modernization as it plays a central role in Midnight. The city has been completely rebuilt with increased detail and a more vertical design.

Players who have already visited the new Silvermoon appear to be delighted, sharing screenshots that showcase the wealth of detail that makes the city perceive much more alive than its original iteration. A post on X expresses enthusiasm for the changes, and a similar sentiment is echoed on Reddit, where players are hoping other capital cities in the game will receive similar overhauls.

Silvermoon is jaw-dropping.

I am stunned and absolutely delighted with the new Silvermoon. It feels like it’s giving shape to what my imagination conjured up back in 2007. The level of detail and the color palette are out of this world, and the majesty and scale produce you feel like you’re in a grand city.

The most impressive design I’ve ever seen in this game. Plus, there are a lot of diverse and interesting interiors.

Overall first impressions of the expansion also seem positive. New areas are receiving praise, as are the campaign, side quests, and soundtrack. Some players have even suggested that Midnight is one of the best expansions for the iconic MMORPG.

A Mysterious Island

Players have also discovered a mysterious area that is likely to be unlocked in a future update. This refers to the island of Atal’Utek, which was present during testing for the Midnight expansion and remains in the final version of the game.

A recent post on Reddit reignited discussion about the island, describing it as “the most obvious zone for the next update in history.” Comments point to data from game files from several months ago that contained icons for equipment sets named “Ulatek.”

Within the world of WoW, there is a goddess named Ula-Tek, worshipped by the trolls of Zul’Aman – a new location added in Midnight. This makes her a fitting antagonist for a future raid. According to Blizzard’s schedule, a major update 12.1 is slated for release this summer, and it’s possible that the Atal’Utek island and associated raid will officially arrive with it. The ongoing development highlights the continued investment in expanding the game’s world and narrative.
