Wu Yue Cup Kicks Off: Zhejiang City Football League Set to Ignite Province

The 2026 Zhejiang Province City Football League, known as the Wu Yue Cup, is set to begin on April 6th, with matches taking place across 11 cities throughout the province. The tournament will feature 62 games played from April 6th to June 11th.

The opening match will see Jiaxing grab on Quzhou at the Jiaxing Sports Center. The first round of games on April 6th also includes matchups between Huzhou and Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Ningbo, Lishui and Wenzhou and Jinhua and Zhoushan. This opening day will see all of Zhejiang’s football fans engaged simultaneously.

The league features 11 teams in a single round-robin format, with each team playing five home and five away games. The top eight teams will advance to the knockout stage, culminating in a single-match final to determine the champion.

The quarter-finals will pit the top eight teams against each other as follows: 1st vs 8th, 2nd vs 7th, 3rd vs 6th, and 4th vs 5th. The higher-ranked team in each matchup will have home-field advantage. The semi-finals will follow, leading to the championship game.

The final match is scheduled for June 11th at the Zhejiang Province Huanglong Sports Center Stadium. This tournament provides a crucial platform for city-level competition and showcases the growing passion for football within Zhejiang province.

Each round will include one team receiving a bye, as indicated in the schedule, to allow for strategic rest and preparation.
