Xiaomi has rapidly established itself in China’s fiercely competitive electric vehicle (EV) industry.
Less than two years after beginning deliveries in April 2024, the company’s EVs have reached a milestone that is drawing attention from established automakers.
According to CarNewsChina, Xiaomi has delivered a total of 600,000 electric vehicles to consumers in 22 months of operation.

Xiaomi announced the achievement on its official social media channels. This cumulative figure represents a significant milestone for the company’s EV division, which is relatively young compared to its competitors in China’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) market.
In January 2026, Xiaomi reported deliveries of 39,002 units. Notably, approximately 97% of these deliveries were the YU7 electric SUV.
The YU7 was the best-selling single electric vehicle in China by retail sales during that month. This performance demonstrates Xiaomi’s ability to maintain momentum even as the overall NEV market in China shows signs of slowing at the start of the year.
Throughout 2025, Xiaomi EV’s total annual deliveries reached 410,000 units, exceeding the company’s internal targets.
December 2025 marked the company’s best month to date, with over 50,000 units delivered – a record high since Xiaomi entered the automotive industry.

For a company that began mass production less than two years ago, these figures indicate a relatively stable and scalable production capacity.
The YU7, launched in mid-2025, has been the primary driver of volume, accounting for more than 150,000 deliveries in the first six months.
The YU7 is positioned as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y in China’s highly competitive mid-size electric SUV segment.
The SU7, Xiaomi’s first model, competed in the mid-to-high end sedan segment. Production of the SU7 has now been discontinued as the product cycle nears its end.

With demand trends favoring SUVs, Xiaomi’s strategic shift towards the YU7 appears well-timed.
For 2026, Xiaomi’s founder and chairman, Lei Jun, has set a delivery target of 550,000 units. This target represents an increase of approximately 34% compared to the 2025 results.
To support these ambitions, Xiaomi is reportedly preparing at least four new models, including an updated SU7 and SUVs with extended-range technology.
Given the speed of market penetration already achieved, the 600,000-unit milestone in 22 months is more than just a numerical achievement.
It confirms Xiaomi’s successful transition from a consumer electronics company to an automotive player with large-scale production capabilities in a short period.
