Yonghui Supermarkets Expands Revamped Store Format Across China

Yonghui Supermarkets is rapidly expanding a new store format, dubbed “Pang Gai Yonghui” (胖改永辉), across multiple provinces in China, signaling a broader strategy to revitalize its retail presence and tap into growing consumer demand. The move comes as the company seeks to bolster sales in key regional markets and adapt to evolving shopping preferences.

The supermarket chain recently launched revamped locations in several cities, including Beijing, Shenyang, Jinan, and Dingzhou, Hebei province. On November 28th, the fourth “Pang Donglai” style Yonghui Supermarket opened in Shenyang, located on Wanghe Road. This follows the opening of Yonghui’s first “Pang Gai Yonghui” store in Beijing’s Chaoyang district on Bai Zi Wan Road.

Further demonstrating this expansion, a new “Pang Gai Yonghui” store opened in Jinan, adding to the growing number of locations adopting the new model. Yonghui also recently completed renovations on its Dingzhou Wanda store, extending the network of upgraded stores to multiple areas within Hebei province.

In Shaanxi province, Yonghui Supermarkets is continuing its store upgrade and renovation program, with a new adjusted and renovated store recently opening. This initiative aims to stimulate consumption in older revolutionary areas and unlock new economic potential. The decision highlights the company’s focus on regional economic development and its commitment to adapting its retail strategy to local market conditions.

These renovations and new openings represent a significant investment by Yonghui Supermarkets in enhancing its retail offerings and improving the customer experience. The company’s expansion of the “Pang Gai Yonghui” format suggests a broader trend towards quality retail and a focus on meeting the evolving needs of Chinese consumers.
