- The license plate «ZH 25» was discovered on a concrete mixer truck belonging to the Kibag company.
- Such low numbers are usually seen on expensive luxury cars.
- Kibag purchased the plate to bring joy to its drivers.
A highly sought-after Swiss license plate, typically reserved for luxury vehicles, has turned up on a Kibag concrete mixer truck. The plate, “ZH 25,” recently sold for 126,000 Swiss francs – roughly $143,000 USD – after a competitive bidding process in June 2025.
A news scout first spotted the unusual pairing on Tuesday although traveling across the Europabrücke bridge. “You expect to spot all sorts of things, but definitely not such an expensive license plate on a concrete mixer,” the scout said. The discovery has sparked curiosity about the buyer and their intentions.
Kibag spokesperson Anja Rubin confirmed the company acquired the plate in December, not during the initial June auction. The purchase was a gesture of appreciation for their drivers. “We wanted to do something special for our drivers,” Rubin said. “They are really, really proud and enjoy driving around town with this number.”
While “ZH 25” was a prized acquisition, Kibag had its sights set on another number. “We would have preferred to acquire the number ZH 26, as Kibag was officially founded in 1926 and we are celebrating our 100th anniversary this year,” Rubin explained. “But it’s not something we absolutely needed.”
