Fans Say He’ll Remain “Number 1”
Egyptian actor and singer Mohamed Ramadan sparked a flurry of discussion on social media with recent comments about the title of “Number 1” and the ongoing debate during the current Ramadan drama season regarding viewership numbers. Ramadan posted a photo to his Facebook account showing him getting a haircut, with the number 1 shaved into the back of his head.
He captioned the image, “Number one… people call me that and it’s a complex for others… because of the grace of God and then the people… talking about me burns the insidious whisperer.”
Ramadan received thousands of comments from fans expressing their excitement for his return to Ramadan dramas, asserting that no one has taken his place and that he will remain “Number 1.” Others commented on the post, questioning whether he was referring to a specific person.
Ramadan recently stated he feels lucky to have been born Egyptian. The artist responded to criticism following the release of his latest song featuring Lara Trump, wife of Donald Trump Jr., after some noted the absence of the Egyptian flag in the music video, revealing details about his collaboration with Trump.
During a phone interview on the “Akher Al-Nahar” program, hosted by Tamer Amin on the Al-Nahar channel, Ramadan explained that the song was filmed at the Trump family home in Miami. He described the filming atmosphere as special and intimate, expressing his great happiness with the experience.
Addressing the controversy surrounding the lack of an Egyptian flag in the video, Ramadan said, “We are honored by our country in the world and we are lucky to have been born Egyptians… and that is the least we can do,” emphasizing his constant pride in his Egyptian identity and his commitment to representing his country in any artistic work he presents outside of Egypt.
Ramadan continued, “I am happy with the experience and being chosen, and there is another collaboration coming up and I will repeat the experience,” noting that he made sure to include words related to Egypt in the song, despite its romantic theme, affirming that What we have is important to him. The artist’s comments approach as Egyptian celebrities increasingly collaborate with international figures, reflecting a growing global interest in Middle Eastern entertainment.
