Egyptian actress Ghada Abdel Razek has revealed she underwent psychological treatment for two decades following a deeply disturbing experience. The star shared details of her struggles during an appearance on the “Ink Secret” program on the “Al-Nahar” channel, according to Al Arabiya.
Abdel Razek explained that she recently stopped taking any psychiatric medication after a long journey of treatment. The catalyst for her need for therapy stemmed from witnessing a tragic event. “I was on my way to a shoot, riding in the car, and the road was congested,” she recounted. “I looked out the window and saw a woman falling from a building and I saw every detail of the accident and was psychologically affected.”
The actress described the lasting impact of the incident, stating, “From that moment on, I began to fear entering the house for fear that something would happen to me like what happened to that woman. From that moment on, I experienced anxiety, fear, insecurity, and depression.” She noted that these feelings significantly impacted her sense of safety for a prolonged period.
Abdel Razek also addressed speculation about cosmetic surgery, asserting she has not undergone any major procedures to alter her appearance. She clarified that whereas she has had some minor treatments like Botox, she has avoided surgical interventions. She did mention having a nose job early in her career, noting she was among the first in the Egyptian entertainment industry to do so, according to El Balad. The star emphasized her commitment to maintaining her appearance without excessive measures.
In other news, Abdel Razek recently turned down a role in a Ramadan 2026 series, citing respect for herself, her reputation, and her career history. She also discussed her relationship with director Mohamed Sami, expressing openness to collaborating with him again if the opportunity arises, as reported by Irm News. The actress’s candid discussion of her personal experiences and professional choices offers a glimpse into the challenges and triumphs of a prominent figure in Egyptian cinema.
Abdel Razek also revealed she apologized to fellow actress Samia El Khashab during a recent appearance on the “Ink Secret” program, as detailed by ET Bil Arabi. This gesture highlights a willingness to address past issues and maintain professional relationships within the industry.
