Four major retail chains in Hong Kong are launching synchronized 88 percent discount promotions this weekend, offering significant savings across groceries, health products, and household essentials.

According to promotional details released by the chains, Wellcome, ParknShop, Mannings, and Watsons will each run limited-time discounts on either April 17 or April 18, 2026, with some offers extending into the following week.

Mannings kicked off the promotion on Friday, April 17, offering an 88 percent discount in-store for purchases over HK$188. Online shoppers needed to spend at least HK$288 and employ the promo code “26APRHH” to receive the same discount, with the online offer valid from 6 a.m. To 11:59 p.m. On the same day.

ParknShop split its promotion across two days. On April 17, online customers who spent HK$1,200 or more and applied the code “OFF12” received an 88 percent discount. On April 18, the focus shifted to physical stores, where shoppers spending HK$150 or more received the same discount along with a HK$15 in-store coupon.

Wellcome’s in-store promotion took place on Saturday, April 18, providing an 88 percent discount on all purchases over HK$168. The chain as well highlighted additional savings opportunities, including a 15 percent discount on wine purchases exceeding HK$300. From April 17 to April 23, Wellcome offered an extra 8 percent off on selected ice cream and frozen desserts when buying five or more individual units, which could be combined with the April 18 storewide discount for enhanced savings.

Watsons rounded out the weekend offers on April 18, providing its Health and Beauty Club members with an unrestricted 88 percent discount both in-store and online—online users needed to apply the code “12OFF.” In addition to the discount, Watsons gave customers a HK$90 coupon with any in-store purchase. Shoppers who spent HK$150 or more on beauty or skincare products received an additional HK$50 coupon, while those spending HK$488 or more on selected bone health or sports nutrition items qualified for further promotional rewards.

Across all chains, the promotions covered a wide range of everyday goods, including instant noodles, ice cream, toilet paper, and toothpaste, with some items discounted to as low as HK$2.80 per pack after the 88 percent reduction.

The coordinated weekend sales reflect a competitive retail strategy aimed at driving foot traffic and online engagement during a peak shopping period, with each chain tailoring its conditions to encourage both in-store and digital purchases.
