What Will the Gross 13th Pension Be in 2026?

This year’s benefit adjustment totaled 5.3%, resulting in an increase to the minimum pension amount. This minimum amount directly determines the value of the 13th pension.

Following the March adjustment, the minimum gross pension will be 1,978.49 zł gross. The 13th gross pension will be the same amount for all pensioners and beneficiaries. The benefit is paid automatically, with no application required.

Is the 13th Pension Taxed?

The 13th pension is subject to a health contribution of 9%. Seniors whose gross basic benefit exceeds 2,500 zł will also have an advance income tax deduction of 12% on the amount exceeding that threshold.

individuals with lower benefits will receive approximately 1,638 zł net, whereas those with higher pensions will see a net amount of around 1,563 zł with a pension of 2,500 zł or more.

2026 13th Pension Payment Schedule

This year, Easter Monday falls on April 6th. This means some standard 13th pension payment dates must be moved to earlier business days.

ZUS (the Social Insurance Institution) only makes payments on business days and banks and offices are closed on Sundays and holidays, so funds are delivered to seniors earlier.

Revised 2026 Payment Schedule

  • April 1st (Wednesday) – payment remains unchanged
  • April 6th (Easter Monday) – payment on April 3rd (Friday)
  • April 10th (Friday) – payment remains unchanged
  • April 15th (Wednesday) – payment remains unchanged
  • April 20th (Monday) – payment remains unchanged
  • April 25th (Saturday) – payment on April 24th (Friday)

a significant portion of seniors will receive their 13th pension before Easter, and those scheduled to receive payment on the 25th of the month will receive it one day earlier, as payments are not made on Saturdays.

Who is Eligible for the 13th Pension?

Eligibility for the 13th pension requires having the right to one of the following benefits as of March 31st:

  • pension,
  • disability pension,
  • family pension,
  • social pension,
  • training pension,
  • teacher’s compensatory benefit,
  • pre-retirement benefit.

If someone is entitled to multiple benefits simultaneously, they will receive only one 13th pension.

Who is Not Eligible for the 13th Pension?

The 13th pension is not available to individuals who:

  • have their benefit rights suspended,
  • receive an Olympic pension,
  • are retired judges or prosecutors,
  • receive a family pension divided among multiple people; in such cases, the benefit is divided proportionally.

When to Expect Funds?

The 13th pension will be paid in April, along with the basic benefit.

Due to holidays and days off, some seniors will receive funds earlier, even a few days before the scheduled date.

ZUS does not require applications, but We see advisable to check your payment date and potentially file a tax return to avoid losing part of the benefit.
