BRATISLAVA – Slovakia’s largest bank, Slovenská sporiteľňa, is preparing for extensive scheduled maintenance this weekend that will impact nearly all customer-facing banking services. Beginning Friday evening and continuing through Saturday,customers will experience disruptions to debit card transactions,ATM access,online and mobile banking,and related payment systems. The bank states the upgrade is essential to enhance security and modernize its infrastructure, coinciding with a broader trend of cybersecurity investments across European financial institutions.

BRATISLAVA – Slovakia’s Slovenská sporiteľňa is warning customers of a widespread service disruption impacting nearly all major banking functions. The bank will undergo scheduled maintenance from Friday, November 21st, to Saturday, November 22nd, temporarily suspending debit card transactions, ATM access, online banking, and mobile payments.

Slovenská sporiteľňa stated the outage is necessary to modernize its systems and enhance security. “We apologize for the limited availability of our services. We need this downtime to fine-tune our services to make them even faster and more secure,” the bank announced on its website. The move comes as financial institutions across Europe continue to invest heavily in cybersecurity and digital infrastructure.

Debit Cards, ATMs, and Mobile Withdrawals

  • Debit card usage will be unavailable.
  • SLSP ATMs and deposit machines will be out of service.

The bank advises customers to withdraw sufficient cash in advance to avoid payment issues.

George Internet Banking, George App, Business24, Sporopay, and Other Online Services

  • All digital services will be inaccessible.
  • The George web and app platforms will be unavailable.
