The Taiwan Team Forest suffered a 4-0 shutout loss to the KBO League team on Saturday in Kaohsiung, bringing the Asian Winter Baseball League to a close. Despite avoiding a no-hitter thanks to a late single by Hsu Ho-chieh, Team Forest struggled to generate offense, managing only one hit – tying a league record for fewest in a game.

KBO League starter Jeong Ki-joon was dominant, building on a previous seven-inning scoreless outing against Team Forest. He carried a no-hit bid into the eighth inning before Hsu broke through with a single to center field. However, the next batter grounded into a double play, quickly ending the threat.

Jeong completed the nine innings without allowing a run, becoming the sixth pitcher in league history to record a complete-game shutout. The KBO League’s strong performance in the tournament underscored their competitive edge this winter.

Lin Zin-jie took the loss for Taiwan Team Forest, pitching five innings and allowing four runs on four hits, including a solo home run to Lee Jae-won in the fifth. He also walked three and hit two batters.

Saturday marked the final game for the KBO League in the Asian Winter Baseball League. Prior to the game, the league presented the entire KBO team with commemorative “Oogao dolls” in recognition of their return to the league after a six-year absence, hoping to continue the partnership and foster further baseball exchange opportunities between Taiwan and Korea.
