Italian television personality Alfonso Signorini, editorial director of “Chi” magazine and host of grande Fratello, is facing allegations of exploiting his position for sexual favors in exchange for opportunities on the popular reality show. The claims, leveled by former paparazzi king Fabrizio Corona on his YouTube program “Falsissimo,” detail what Corona calls a systemic pattern of alleged abuse of power within the Italian entertainment industry. While the accusations remain unverified and Signorini has not yet responded to requests for comment, the story surfaces amid growing global awareness of problematic power dynamics in media and casting. Corona alleges this extends to hundreds of hopeful contestants over the last decade.

Italian television personality Alfonso Signorini is facing serious allegations from former paparazzi king Fabrizio Corona, who claims success on the reality show Grande Fratello (Big Brother) hinged on sexual favors. Corona alleges that Signorini, editorial director of the weekly magazine “Chi” and host of Grande Fratello, attempted to seduce and engaged in sexual relationships with men who later appeared on the show.

During his YouTube program, “Falsissimo,” Corona presented what he calls the “Signorini system,” asserting it’s “the case zero of at least 500 cases in the last 10 years.” He contends that aspiring contestants were pressured into compromising situations to gain access to the platform that launches careers in Italian entertainment. “To succeed, you usually have to pay a very high price,” Corona stated.

According to Corona, Signorini would allegedly send “personal” messages and photos to potential contestants. A purported anonymous source, featured on “Falsissimo,” claimed, “He sent them to me, they were his personal photos, like one where he was nude.”

The accusations center around Antonio Medugno, a former Grande Fratello contestant from 2022. Medugno confirmed exchanging messages with Signorini but denied any explicit sexual advances. “He didn’t want to have a relationship with me, he didn’t push it that far, but there were more affectionate messages. Like: ‘You’re getting more handsome’ or ‘I’d really like to go to dinner with you,’” Medugno explained. Corona, however, disputes this account.

Corona presented a series of chat logs he attributes to Signorini and Medugno, claiming they reveal the alleged “Signorini system” at play. “These are chats that lasted more than 4 or 5 months and were given to us by the owner,” Corona said on his show. He alleges the conversations demonstrate a pattern where “an unknown person is contacted by a powerful man and ends up on television.”

According to Corona’s version of events, the initial contact involved Signorini hinting at a potential audition for GF VIP. The dialogue then allegedly shifted to personal matters, with promises of expensive gifts and a request for secrecy. “I have nothing to lose, you do,” Corona claims Signorini messaged. He further alleges that Medugno spent a night at Signorini’s home, after which he was not selected to join the show.

Corona claims that after a period of silence, Signorini re-established contact with Medugno, offering another audition. “Everything starts up again, the flirting, the meetings, and suddenly: new contestant on Grande Fratello,” Corona stated. He describes this as a “classic method” used to allegedly entice other aspiring contestants, adding, “It’s worked for years with one, five, ten, twenty, fifty Medugnos. This is the Signorini system.”

As of now, these are unverified accusations, and none of the individuals mentioned have publicly commented. Requests for comment from Alfonso Signorini have gone unanswered.

The allegations come at a time when scrutiny of power dynamics and casting practices within the entertainment industry is increasing globally. The situation is developing, and further statements are anticipated.
